“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”

OurPitch trained more than 250 teachers from Masaiti, Wansha and Mpoge in a FAZ-E training program to become certified coaches as part of a wider FAZ plan to train over 1,000 coaches across the Copperbelt province.

OurPitch launched a transformative coaching program in the Copper Belt Province, aiming to develop grassroots football by training over 300 teachers and sports coaches. The initiative, supported by a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education and the Football Association of Zambia, plans to train over 800 additional coaches across four centers. OurPitch’s program received praise for its impact on teacher morale and its inclusive approach, with 84 women participating.

OurPitch, in partnership with the Football Association of Zambia and the Ministry of Education, supported a grassroots coaching capacity-building program in Shangombo that awarded 136 participants with coaching certificates. The initiative which was aimed at developing rural football talent and creating better opportunities for youth was praised by local leaders who urged coaches to put their new skills into practice.

OurPitch, in partnership with the Football Association of Zambia and the Ministry of Education, has launched a coach development program in Eastern Province to develop grassroots football.

Launched this season, the initiative has trained 785 coaches—most of them sports teachers—and delivered coach development across eight schools, with roughly 75% of coaches at the recent district sports festival having received OurPitch training.

OurPitch’s most recent programme saw 102 coaches complete the FAZ-E coaching license in Chipangali Province. Following the success of Chipangali, OurPitch plans to expand its initiatives to Chipata, Kasnengwa, and Nimba, with a target to certify an additional 300 coaches to further engage teachers to support educational development and create equal access to opportunities for rural youth.
