Chipangali District is extremely rural and largely dependent on subsistence agriculture with maize, tobacco and soya beans being the main crops grown. The district has very little infrastructure development and few facilities for both the youth and general populace. Fascinatingly, there has been a growing interest in football within the district over many years and local teams such as Chico Stars and Kummawa Stars were recently invited to join the FAZ Provincial Division III League. As such, the rationale for selecting Chipangali for the OurPitch programme was to capture this existing interest in football and catalyse further development.

Between the 14th and 18th of April 2025, OurPitch, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, hosted a FAZ-E License training course for local school teachers and coaches. The program attracted eighty-one (81) male and twenty-one (21) female participants from across the district with over 80% being from local schools. During the closing ceremony, the District Education Board Secretary Ms. Juliet Mufungulwa emphasised the huge impact that the support from OurPitch would have in changing the lives of students and youth across the district.
