Mufulira District is a rural district primarily known for its mining industry with a population of 200,182. Mufulira faces a number of issues such as youth unemployment, poverty, substance abuse and limited infrastructure which has held back development. 

Between the 19th and 23rd of April 2026, OurPitch, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, hosted a FAZ-E License training course for local school teachers and coaches. The training attracted a total of one hundred and fifty-nine (159) male participants and one hundred and fourteen (114) female participants. Mufulira broke the previous record set by Chinsali district for the most female coaches trained in an OurPitch program and reflects OurPitch’s ongoing mission to develop inclusive sporting environments for youth development.
