Mohanga

Mohanga Mimori is a primary school teacher at Kasima Primary School in Zambia’s Western Province and a trained community football coach through OurPitch’s FAZ-E coach training programme.

Mohanga’s journey is one that is shaped by resilience. Despite an early passion for football, harsh training methods in her youth such as physical punishments and violence caused her to disengage from the sport. Through OurPitch’s programme, she feels her “dreams have been availed” and has regained the confidence to both coach and play. As a woman entering a traditionally male-dominated space, she is “overwhelmed” and proud to take on this role, advocating for safer, more supportive environments for young female players.
