Kyane

Kyane Kasweka is a community football coach from Mitei District, Zambia. Kyane travelled close to 600 kilometres to attend OurPitch’s Copperbelt FAZ-E License coaching program His journey reflects the extreme remoteness of rural Zambian communities and the incredible enthusiasm for OurPitch’s efforts to extend equal opportunities to these communities.

Coming from a remote village, Kasweka is particularly motivated by the lack of opportunities in rural regions and aims to use the knowledge gained to “impart into the children” in his community. He views grassroots football as “the grassroot of everything,” emphasising the importance of access to training, noting that such programmes are vital not only for individual development but for “the children, the district, the province at large, including the country.”
