Kaoma District lies on the Barotse Floodplains andis one of the most sparsely populated districts in the Western Province with a population of 146,690 distributed across small villages. The primary economic activities in Kaoma are smallholder farming, livestock rearing and fishing. The district faces typical rural developmentchallenges such as poor road access, irrigation, healthcare, and education services and most of its youth are engaged in farming or informal trading. 

Between the 2nd and 6th of September 2025, OurPitch, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, hosted a FAZ-E License training course for local school teachers and coaches. The program attracted one hundred and thirty-five male (135) and twenty-eight (28) female participants from across the district with 90%+ being from local schools.
