Nyimba District, having previously been a part of Petauke District, became a district in 1993 and has a total population of 145,119. The district has four chiefdoms with Chief Ndake situated on a plateau with the rest in the valley. Ndake chiefdom has arable land suitable for agriculture while the rest of the district’s land in the valley is unsuitable and unable to sustain farming. This poses a significant economic challenge to the inhabitants of Nyimba. Moreover, the district is also grappling with significant food security issues that are exacerbated by the human-animal conflicts which are common in such remote regions. Nyimba District, like Mambwe District, has a well-established FAZ Division III League which draws teams from both the plateau and valley chiefdoms.

Between the 5th and 9th of May 2025, OurPitch, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, hosted a FAZ-E License training course for local school teachers and coaches. The program attracted eighty-six (86) male and fifteen (15) female participants with the highest percentage of school teachers out of all the programs at roughly 80%
